October is Domestic Violence
Awareness Month
Dads of Washington will air a one hour program about domestic violence issues, including battered fathers and men. I urge you to encourage family and friends to see this program. Set your VCR. The show will be on September 21, 1997 at 5:00 - 6:00 pm, that's a Sunday evening. Public Access Channel 29 in the Seattle area.
I have been informed that the former Viacom systems bought out by TCI in Snohomish and Pierce counties are now carrying the public access channel out of Seattle, although there may be a different channel number. Check your schedule. - Bob Karls
Contacts Needed
Fathers Rights contacts needed, both online and offline in the states of North Carolina South Carolina and New Jersey along with names of attorneys supportive to father-custody issues.
20/20
ABC will air issues about domestic violence and battered men on the 20/20 program. For more information contact Victor Smith, President of Dads Against Discrimination, (503)222-1111.
Remember, October is domestic violence awareness month and the media will undoubtedly be stressing domestic violence issues and lying through their teeth about the reality of the issue. Challenge them and complain, loudly and often.
