AFC has acquired an outstanding film on the inequities of child support which we are distributing through our e-mail lists. Following initial distribution in each state, we urge fathers to make copies for your state legislators, especially those sitting on key committees. After they have had time to watch the film, we urge you to make an appointment with those legislators to discuss reform of the system.
The film was produced in a TV studio at private expense during December 1996. It has a running time of approximately 55 mins. While it focuses on Washington, DC, Virgina and Maryland, its application covers all states as well as Federal law.
The format is 1/2 inch, but 3/4 inch tapes can be provided for broadcast on your local TV stations as desired. The 1/2 inch tapes can be copied on VCR's for viewing by local legislators. For best results, only the master copy provided by afc should be used for this purpose.
To order the film, send a check for $35 to:
AFC/Film on Child Support Inequities
Attn: Stuart Miller
2000 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
Ste. 148
Washington, DC 20006
If just one paid copy of the film is provided to each state, the cost of its production can be satisfied.
Here is something everyone can do to change this unjust system for the better. Distribution in VA has already commenced. If you have no organized group in your state, contact us and we'll help you form one.
We expect to have more films available in the near future, e.g., the benefits of joint physical and legal custody.
