Freedom of speech?
Wednesday, February 8, 1995, 9:00 p.m.
by Mathew Christian Vadum, Managing Editor
Earlier today TNE Business Manager Jason Scovell discovered that NCSC --
apparently with the blessing of New College Principal Fred Case-- raided our
office and took all remaining TNE back issues and "archived" them. Unfortunately,
at New College "archive" has an unusual meaning (which I would like to share
with you).
ARCHIVE (verb): to place in a recycling bin.
Yes, that's right: Men's Issues Editor Will Steeves and I tonight found several
thousand back issues of TNE in six recycling bins outside Wetmore Hall, New
College. We are pleased to report that after much exertion (and a friendly visit
from UofT's boys in blue) we managed to retrieve most of the back issues.
Yes, freedom of speech and freedom of the press are both alive and well at New
College.
For more information, email Will Steeves
