In this column I pose questions and raise issues. I don't always agree with the conclusion, implied or stated. The purpose is to put a slightly different spin on each item and to promote discussion.

• All the people moaning about over-population, I look forward to hearing what they have to say when America's looming labor shortage begins to drag on our economy.
• Tom Leykis reminds me of Gail Wynand, the fictional publisher of The Banner in Ayn Rand's novel, The Fountainhead. Like Wynand, Leykis sees issues clearly, and like Wynand, Leykis sells out because that's how he gets rich.
• Tom Leykis brags about the many women with whom he's had sex, thereby expressing his implicit approval of promiscuity, he tells guys how to get laid, and he encourages women to indulge in behaviors that lead to promiscuity, yet he claims he's not promoting promiscuity. Good one, Tom, tell us another one.
• The lunatic anti-Semitic raving of white supremacists aside, genetically most Jews are further removed from the Jews of the Bible than the whitest Native Americans are from their American Indian ancestry.
• The Israelis have conceded to most Palestinian demands, and still HAMAS attacks. Why? Religious and cultural reasons beyond the comprehension of most of us. Why do we care? Oil. Israel helps protect the interests of American multi-national corporations in their area.
• Exporting American manufacturing jobs to cheaper workers abroad would have little impact on American workers if entrenched industries, like oil and auto, were not protected from competition by corporate welfare policies.
• Feminist-dominated family courts are producing a generation of women-disrespecting mamma's boys.
• Why should Americans give favorable treatment to American corporations who export jobs? Citizens of any country should give priority to employers who give priority to their country. That is simply rational self-interest which every nation should apply.
• Interest in the personalities, perspectives and experiences of strangers is considered by our culture to be a feminine trait.
• If a gay guy at work asks me out and not only do I decline but I complain that the invitation makes me feel uncomfortable and "threatened," I will be branded as a homophobe. But if I ask out a female coworker and she files a similar complaint, nobody will call her androphobic, but our employer will probably discipline me for sexual harassment.
• Employers come up with all kinds of ridiculous reasons to justify policies that have as their sole purpose a catch-all excuse for firing employees.
• In pre-Civil Rights Movement America, bigotry may have been rampant but people were still expected to be civil and polite. Now, rudeness rules.
• Feminist dogma of the 1970s and early 1980s acknowledged that most men want children. Now, popular wisdom acknowledges that most men don't want children. What changed? In the "patriarchal" past, men were rewarded for fathering children, while in the feminist present men are punished for it.
• In the bad old days of the evil patriarchal white male hegemony, sports stars made moderate salaries while scientists, engineers and doctors were portrayed as heroes.
• Praising Mexican immigrants for accepting jobs that most Americans won't do ignores the very capitalistic fact that Americans are very willing to do those jobs...if the pay is high enough.
• Feminists caused part of the problem with our health care system by encouraging women to run to the emergency room every time they get into a fight with their man, even if they were bruised less than a school child at play.
• Laws and policies passed under the auspices of doing what's "in the best interests of the children" often sacrifice the long-term welfare of society to short-term goals.
• Most of the pedophiles who get caught are men. The reason more female pedophiles don't get caught is because our society still encourages boys to see sex with an adult woman as good.
• If Asians, some Hispanics, and American Indians are "people of color," then why does the NAACP focus solely on African American issues?
• Duiring the 1990s, feminists asserted that men hate lesbians. The reason, according to feminists, is because men can't control lesbians. And so they encouraged women to become lesbians as a political statement. Now, thanks to the mainstreaming of an insight first noted here, feminists spit rage at the masculine evil which makes men find lesbian sex play arousing.
• Many environmentalist organizations are misanthropic Luddites who offer no solutions, only problems.
• There are plenty of solutions to environmental problems and pollution, but they require progress and change, which most environmentalists reject, believing that the only solution is to change human nature.
• Had England fought to win rather than by the rules, America would probably still be a British colony.
• Many people of average intelligence bully very intelligent people and dismiss them as "stupid" and "goofy."
• What race is an American whose blood quantum is 7/8s European American and 1/8th African American? Most will answer, Black. What about an American whose blood quantum is 7/8s European American and 1/8th Native American?
• Corporate aristocrats do not want a polluted planet, but like Karl Marx they believe that progress is inevitable and so they don't need to worry about it because historical forces will produce a solution for them. Ironic, how these "capitalists" rely on such a socialist concept.
• Many women, perhaps in some angry attempt to get back at messy boyfriends and husbands, make big messes at the office, where they expect others to clean up after them.
• Asperger's Disorder has the distinction of being a "disability" that makes a person less employable and more likely to be fired by virtue of, among other things, being generally more creative, skilled and productive than most others.
• Feminists persuaded the world that "all men are rapists." The result? Millions of young women now idolize rapists.
• People who obsess about celebrity scandals such as the Winona Ryder and Kobe Bryant cases, either lead empty, meaningless lives and have nothing better to do, or they're looking for justification of their own misdeeds.
• Microsoft did not run afoul of the law until after they began hiring professionals to run the company.
• America is in a state of war. Despite improved economic conditions for American's corporations, most Americans still find themselves economically depressed. So what's the number one news event in the country? The Kobe Bryant case.
• "Conservatives" support a market-based approach to problems, except when it threatens their financial interests.
• Women are as clueless about men as men are about women. The reason our culture castigates only men for this is because men, as the initiators, make their mistakes for all to see, while women's mistakes are safely hidden behind the waiting-to-be-asked veil.
• Where most men are able to distinguish between reality and action-adventure movies, most women, in my experience, seem to think that life really is a soap opera. Being unaware of this, most men dismiss the idiotic antics of women as "mysterious," when in truth we should be as contemptuous of women who act like life is a soap opera as we are of men who never outgrow their "glory days."
• During a conversation with a country singer/author, FOX commentator Bill O'Reilly revealed why he often comes across as a barking bully when he said something about debate being part of politics. To O'Reilly, his interviews are about politics, and politics involves debate. This is the problem: the purpose of debate is not to determine what is true, but to win. My background is in formal argument (called Argumentation), in which the goal is to discover the truth. In debate, which is what Mr. O'Reilly does, it's more important to win than to be right.
• I read and hear about all the guys who like women with breast implants, but every man I know will take a real "b" over a fake "d" every time.
• There's an old joke that "fat girls are like mopeds...fun to ride, but you don't want your friends to see you on one." In my neighborhood lives a fat family - mother, father and daughter - who, for exercise, ride mopeds around and around.
• American corporations and politicians tell us that as workers we need to compete with labor in other countries. But, as the American drug companies demonstrate, American corporations don't want to let foreign countries compete for the American consumers' money.
• Some Black entertainers claim that the legendary American Indian King of Rock'n Roll, Elvis Presley, stole from Black people. Do they intend to claim that American Indians stole America from Blacks, too?
• To beat Bush may be important to Democrats, but to revitalize the economy and do right is more important to Americans.
• Freedom has become a euphemism for consumption.
