In this column I pose questions and raise issues. I don't always agree with the conclusion, implied or stated. The purpose is to put a slightly different spin on each item and to promote discussion.

• Democrats have made a career of caring for others, and Republicans have made a career of caring for themselves, but neither party has governed well. And few, outside their respective parties, care much for either of them.
• Why are so many relationship gurus divorced?
• In the view of feminists and other status-conscious individuals, hierarchies are not a form to facilitate function, but a social structure by which some dominate many. For the rest of us, it's just an effective arrangement for getting things done.
• Welfare and other social programs, like food stamps, allow corporations to pay less than a living wage.
• One of the most effective ways to destroy an enemy is to embrace them. To a significant degree, many of the great empires were built on this principle.
• If you don't like the laws Republicans and Democrats pass, vote for candidates from other parties...assuming, of course, the Republicrats and Demopublicans will allow them on the ballot.
• Politically Incorrect host Bill Maher quoted Christopher Hitchins as saying, "The real axis of evil is not Iran, Iraq and North Korea. It's Christianity, Islam and Judaism." To this, Maher observed, "Now, that's a little unfair to the Jews, because ... The Christians and the Muslims have a lot more in common about being hard-core and killing and inquisitions than the Jews." True. Well, unless you count the Bolshevik Revolution, Marxism and Betty Friedan.
• Feminists have trained us to dismiss the poverty, hardships and oppressive circumstances of individual men by statistically lumping them in with the privileged few patriarchs.
• Nothing unifies like oppression.
• Feminists have persuaded policy makers and the public that men are little better than wild animals: unpredictable and dangerous. They're right. The veneer of civilization is thin. In this respect, however, women are no different. It's the culture women and men create around one another that civilizes us.
• Happy people don't bully.
• During the April 29, 2002, episode of Politically Incorrect, actor and columnist Larry Miller noted that were the position of the Israelis and Palestinians reversed, Jews wouldn't be running around blowing themselves up. That's a very good point. On the other hand, were Americans rather than Jews occupying Israel, the Palestinians would have their own state, a voice in government and a vested interest in peace.
• Many women choose men who will dominate them.
• FOX News now refers to the Palestinian suicide bombers as "homicide bombers." Were these Palestinians terrorists, as many believe, this would make sense. And certainly here in the West we are prone to view them as such. But the Palestinians and Israelis are at war. As such, the bombers aren't terrorists, but guerillas, Arabian Kamikazes sacrificing themselves to a stupid war.
• The fastest way to create a black market in cloning is to make it illegal.
• America is one of the very few nations which guarantees so many civil liberties. On the other hand, our legal system also gives our government far greater latitude to transgress those rights than is the case in other western nations.
• A lot of the time, I agree with O'Reilly Factor host Bill O'Reilly. But the sad truth is he has dumbed down his show so much that when he disagrees with a guest (which is most of the time), he doesn't counter with lucid arguments or even sound bites so much as sound barks. "That's just plain wrong!" "With all due respect, you just don't have all the facts!" Bark, bark, bark, yap, yap, yap! Sometimes I wonder if he honestly believes bellowing does not detract from his credibility.
• If the assassination of President Kennedy was a coup carried out by members of "The Establishment," then who's been running the country all these years?
• If most women loved equalitarian men, most men would be equalitarian.
• Feminists say women should be free to choose whether to have or not have children. Notice, however, that these "champions of equality" do not demand the same freedom to choose for men.
• If crimes against women are not taken seriously in America, then why are most prison inmates men?
• As long as most women prefer men who dominate and are in control, most men will aspire to be domineering and in control.
• Many of the women who commit crimes do so at the behest of their husband or boyfriend. Feminists claim this makes it men's fault. Maybe they're right. If they are, however, then that means that when a man commits a crime at the behest of a woman, it's the woman's fault.
• If patriarchy controlled women's bodies as the means of reproduction, corporate culture controls every body as the means of production.
