In this column I pose questions and raise issues. I don't always agree with the conclusion, implied or stated. The purpose is to put a slightly different spin on each item and to promote discussion.

  • Despite pop feminist diatribes to the contrary, most women still expect men to infer a great deal from subtle signals.

  • Why would an America first policy be viewed by some as anti-Semitic?

  • What's wrong with this picture: In 1998, according to Table 675 of the Statistical Abstract of the United States, men still comprised the majority in the dirty, dangerous jobs: 98% of construction workers, 76% of operators, fabricators and laborers, and 83% of farm workers. (Note: The raw numbers are there; you have to do the math.)

  • Free Trade, or Fair Trade?

  • In 1998, according to Table 680 of the Statistical Abstract of the United States, half a million more men than women lost their jobs.

  • If telling the truth is often penalized, while telling a convincing lie is usually rewarded, why would anybody tell the truth?

  • Pop feminists complain that women are paid less than men, and blame this on men, but ignore that women who belong to Unions are more likely to make equal pay, and that there are 3.5 million more men than women in unions.

  • If "reproductive rights are key to empowering women," then what would reproductive rights for men be?

  • The logo at the top of the Women's E-news site says "What news looks like when women matter." Evidently, they mean the slant that women are victims no matter what.

  • MS .Net? Now they want us to pay a subscription for them to keep track of what we do on our computers. Only Microsoft.

  • They who renounce Hitler as utterly evil but admire the Caesars of old Rome, or King Richard the Lion Hearted, or William the Conqueror, or King Saul, to name a few, see through eyes ignorant of the fact the deeds of these and many other leaders throughout human history were every bit as evil by modern standards. To acknowledge what our historic figures really did and how they lived is neither to diminish their place in history nor their importance to us, but to better understand why our predecessors passed on to us the values by which we judge such acts heinous, and how great a gift those values are.

  • The Anti-Defamation League condemns Pat Buchanan as anti-Semitic for making statements sometimes critical of Jewish-American leaders and Israel, but mostly critical of our own government's policies with regard to Israel. Yet, search their site on key words such as "misandry," "anti-male" and "sexism," and despite the pervasive male bashing in our society they have nothing to say in opposition. Such silence in the presence of such sensitivity to anything at all critical of Jews is deafening. (Ironic, to find such implicit misandry there, as I went to the ADL site in search of material to help me in my opposition to the growing anti-Semitism within some fathers' groups.)

  • If men shave for women, why shouldn't women shave for men?

  • Most western men assume the "battle of the sexes" is like chess or football, where the lines are clearly drawn and subterfuge plays a very small part.

  • How should a reasonable person interpret the violence implicit in the following statement on a woman's "vanity" license plate holder: "I have PMS...and a handgun under the seat."

  • Once upon a time, Americans respected those who worked, rich or poor, because they worked; now, after decades of enlightened liberalism, Americans respect the rich, pity the poor, and loath the uncool.

  • More men than women favor abortion because it grants them the freedom to indiscriminately screw around without fear of consequences. Ironically, pop feminists insist it's the other way around.

  • Following WWII, American women and men generally behaved graciously toward one another. As the pop feminists' ignoble attitude toward men spread, however, this relationship has given way to a sentiment which can best be described by one term: sadomasochism.

  • It is astounding how many people are deliberately dumb.

  • Unmasking a covert enemy is liberating.

  • Most male behavior leading up to dating and mating could best be described as stalking. The legal difference between stalkng and courtship is determined not by any objective standard, but by the interest of the woman being stalked.

  • The dead are not an opinion.

  • Women used to invest in men who built the future; now, they buy boys who consume the past.

  • Everybody wants to blame Attorney General Janet Reno for Waco. But she inherited that situation from Attorney General Dick Thornburg's Justice department....the same folks who gave us Ruby Ridge. It was technically her responsibility, but she had just been named and confirmed (March 12, 1993) after the Zoe Baird and Kimba Wood fiascoes; the Waco incident began on February 28, 1993, when "agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms attempted to execute arrest and search warrants against David Koresh and the Branch Davidian compound." (PBS) I'm not a fan of Reno, but if we're going to criticize her, let's do it with facts. And the fact is, she is not the one who started Waco, but the one who stopped it.

  • Men have female problems, women have male problems.

  • If God is a woman, why do almost all women become infertile while still relatively young?

  • "The customer is always right"? But how can you trust somebody who tells you only what you want to hear?

  • None of the talk about Microsoft addresses the injuries they have inflicted. Their illegal business practices destroyed lives and livelihoods, but nobody talks about redressing that.

  • As the men's movement gains momentum, we will begin to act a lot like the stereotypical pop feminist who complains about every little thing which might be construed as sexist. Question is, do we really want to become "humorless"?

  • Liberation is not walking on pins and needles for fear of offending; it is feeling at ease with one another.

  • One goal of the competent IT manager is to provide tools which improve corporate productivity. One way to do this is by reducing the opportunity for making mistakes. So why are so many IT managers introducing new systems which increase the opportunity for making mistakes?

  • Why would any nice man want to be with a woman who has sex with bad boys?

  • According to the demographic research unit of the California Department of Finance, as reported in the National Post, minorities will comprise the majority in California by July, 2001. The world will be watching to see how an American state dominated by a non-white population fares. Let's hope they set an example that will do all Americans proud.

  • As the neo-Nazi movement grows it doesn't help that the mainstream, not to mention the minority and Jewish targets of the racist groups, contemptuously brush off rather than directly confront the hate groups' propaganda. Brush them off, they fester and grow. Confront their lies directly and simply with facts and respect for the individual, and their numbers will gradually dwindle.
