Nationally-famous author John Lee, author of The Flying Boy, At My Father's wedding and Facing the Fire: Experiencing and Expressing Anger Appropriately will be a Special Guest for a chat in the Auditorium of the Men's Issues Forum of MSN on Sunday, May 12, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. PDT. John is known in Recovery circles as the author of The Flying Boy. He is co-founder of the Austin Men's Center and creator of P.E.E.R. Training for therapists, on men and anger. His books include At My Father's Wedding (about the "men's movement" and men's personal growth and "inner work"), Facing the Fire: Experiencing and Experiencing and Expressing Anger Appropriately and Writing From the Body. He frequently appears with Robert Bly and other "elders" at conferences and gatherings for men.
He has been interviewed twice by M.E.N. Magazine. These interviews can be found at the magazine's MenWeb site, which is affiliated with MSN. The announcement of the event, in the main Men's Issues area, has shortcuts to those interviews: Men and Anger: An Interview with John Lee and Men, Mothers, Wives and Lovers: An Interview with Robert Bly, John Lee and Michael Gurian.
John will be coming on-line following a weekend gender-reconciliation retreat for men and women, Teach Us to Care and Not to Care. Men's Issue Forum Executive Assistant James Bracewell and his wife Katherine Russell will be with him at his mountain retreat in Alabama, while Forum Manager Bert H. Hoff will facilitate the event from Seattle.
The Special Event will have two "chat rooms," an AUDITORIUM that seats 250 spectators, and a GREEN ROOM where you can go to ask John questions. Questions from the GREEN ROOM and John's answers will appear in the AUDITORIUM.
Hope to see you there!
