NPR story on "Scum manifesto"

from Men/Fathers HOTLINE

One of our members suggests an email message to NPR. Violence against individuals, particularly against a class of individuals (in this case, men), should not be condoned, must less praised and glorified.

Consider making your voice heard.

Friday April 5th, NPR broadcast a story on a woman film maker who has done a film on the woman who shot Andy Worhal and authored the "SCUM Manifesto" (Society for Cutting Up Men).
This film maker was being interviewed and spoke of her subject as a clever person who had created this manifesto which young women are drawn to these days. This provokes laughter in the background from her another female in the room, perhaps the interviewer. The manifesto says, in part, that men should be mostly eleminated from society except for breeding purposes, etc.

I wrote NPR and asked why the interviewer didn't challange ANY of this stuff and why such a person should be promoted in any way (either the film maker or her subject). If the subjects of the "Manifesto" had been Jews, Blacks, or, Heaven forbid, WOMEN! such a piece would never have gotten air time except in the context of racism and or sexism. Instead, it was given air as a film review.

I think that, as men, we need to respond to this stuff now and in mass. I suggest we write NPR with a protest.

Their email address is: NPR.
