I have consistently found his writings on survivorship and sexual abuse to be full of the maturity and reflection necessary to present such material to a society which unwittingly perpetuates abuse and silence through guilt, shame, and hypocrisy. It is unfortunate that the world of abuse (both victims and therapists) has very few spokespeople capable of solid, logical oration and argument development.
Frequently literature on this topic is filled with statements too global or too limiting. Mic Hunter is an exception to this. He has both mind and heart. He has again shown these qualities in Joyous Sexuality. This book is wonderful reading for anyone who has come from a sexually dysfunctional background. It is written largely from a human perspective, not a societal one, and is therefore free of the societal judgementalism which frequently accompanies the topic of sexuality.
My advice? Get it. If I didn't like it, I'd say so. this book is one more step in the right direction in terms of freeing sexuality from the current place it has in many social institutions.
