The Backlash! - October 1996
What's happening?
Volunteer needed
NCFM needs someone to act as Awards Chairman. We have given out awards
continuously since 1986. Because an organization does not run itself, if a
volunteer is not found awards will be suspended. We will only accept a volunteer
who is not already involved up to their eye brows.
NCFM on the air
- On June 15, the day before Father’s Day, Francis Baumli appeared on the
Mid-day jamboree, hosted by Fred Gumaer on KDHX, St. Louis, MO, as a
representative of NCFM. Baumli’s focus was on Father’s Day and the importance
of fatherhood, which was echoed by other St. Louis call-in shows the following
day.
- June 24 Charles Fink, director of our Men’s Resources Hotline, appeared on
News Talk TV to address the question of deadbeat dads.
- June 17, NCFM representative Pam Kelley appeared on the Jeoff Metcal
Show over KFSO radio in San Francisco. She raised the topics of male sexual
abuse and the way males, as opposed to females, are always targeted as
perpetrators.
False accusations
Late last year, Texas State Representative, Ed Devine, participated in a town hall
meeting on the family broadcast by TV station WFAA, Dallas. One of the results
of this successful broadcast was the creation of Divorce Resource page on the
Internet.
The page which is a an elite list of persons who can provide help for Texans,
includes our very own Ed Devine who is prominently billed as the representative of
National Coalition of Free Men.
