NCFC Convention; Board/Officers

I returned to Phoenis last night from four days of the Annual Convention of the National Congress for Fathers and Children in Lenexa, KS (Kansas City). I've attended every one of this organization's conventions since the founding in 1981, and this year's was in many respects the best.

Paid attendance was 150, (including 35 local lawyers who attended professional CLE (Continuing Legal Education- for credit) seminars sessions.) Attendees from all over the country, and one from Honduras. Some excellent speakers, although I wish I were able to attend all of the sessions (there were three goin on at a time, and obne had to choose). There are audio tapes available from NCFC.

I spoke on Pro-Se representation. There were practical seminars on child support (defending fathers), custody litigation strategy, false accusations of abuse, False Memory Syndrome, legislative lobbying, organizing local chapters/Fathyers Rights groups, and much more (see previous posts giving the ample schedule.) Saturday Night, Warren Farrell spoke, giving us a glimpse of a new book he's working on, which, among other things, assesses credible statistics showing that children fare better living with fathers than with mothers, if they must live with only one parent.

NCFC's board, which once numbered 30, was reduced several years ago to 20, was brought back up to 27. Here are the officers and board members as of August 1996:
