Undermining Our Faith and Confidence
By Rod Van Mechelen
2024 Olympia, WA -- On February 16th, Tucker Carlson interviewed Mike Benz, who had the cyber portfolio at the State Department. He's now executive director of Foundation for Freedom Online.
He made several shocking observations, among them that posting opinions on social media can be a crime:
"You could literally be on your toilet seat at 9:30 on a Thursday night and tweet, "I think that Mail-In ballots are illegitimate."
And you were essentially then caught up in the crosshairs of the Department of Homeland Security, classifying you as conducting a cyber attack on U.S. critical infrastructure because you were doing misinformation online in the cyber realm and ...
...misinformation is a cyber attack on democracy when it undermines public faith and confidence in our democratic elections and our democratic institutions."
Hate Crime Tattlers Cottage Industry?
That should not have shocked me as, here in Washington State, our Communist governor, Jay Inlsee, signed a bill creating a "domestic violent extremist" commission to propose a process for identifying and prosecuting thought crimes.
More recently, he signed a bill, SB 5427, creating a hotline for hate crimes and bias incidents. Somebody forget to use preferred pronouns, call it in. Witness or experience a bias incident, call it in.
Will that include observing posts on social media platform? Don't know, but some callers may receive up to $2,000, so we can expect it to create a new hate crime tattlers cottage industry.
One can imagine homeless reporting home owners, drug addicts reporting police, envious employees reporting coworkers, children tattling, rancid Progressives raging about MAGA Republicans who speak out against sterilizing children.
Undermining Faith and Confidence
Creating thought crime commissions and woke complaint hotlines aside, as I listened to Mr. Benz it seemed to me that because so many Progressives have caused me and others to lose faith and confidence in our democratic elections and democratic institutions, that Homeland Security should be prosecuting them.
Like Joe Biden, his supporters, the Trump-haters and the DNC's paid shills. Since DHS is not, we should call out those who are undermining our faith and confidence.
