Reclaiming Our Labels
By Rod Van Mechelen
2021 Olympia, WA -- Today, America's Founding Fathers are considered White supremacist slave owning racist Conservatives. But what do Conservatives believe?
"Conservatives believe in limited government, true free markets, individual liberty, the value of life, freedom of speech, private property rights, the right to self-defense, the right to self determination, freedom of religion, and the non-aggression principle (we won't harm you unless you try to harm us)." -- Brandon Smith
Once upon a time, those who believed in these were called Liberals. But Marxists steal labels to sow confusion. Hence, "Liberal" became synonymous with the anti-liberty agenda, and pro-liberty Americans were pushed as "Classical Liberals" into the corner with Conservatives.
Conservatives want to preserve institutions and the status quo. They reject social experimentation and cling to the tried and true. For a society to endure, it needs Conservatives. But for a society to thrive, it also needs Liberals to push the boundaries.
Progressives are not liberal, but authoritarian. They would drag us into a feudal state ruled by Plutocrats.
It's time for Classical Liberals to reclaim the name. We share many values, virtues and principles with Conservatives, but few if any with Progressives, who turned America into the Empire of the United States.
These Progressives, under the label of Neocon, are warmongers, and while they have embarked on an agenda to dominate the globe, Neolib Progressives on the left have continued to push their agenda to conquer and subjugate fellow Americans at home.
Today this includes using Social Media to blame and shame to silence and control those Conservatives and Classical Liberals who voice pro-American and pro-liberty views.
But the only power they have is the power we give them.
The only power they have is the power you give them.
